Felt hair barrette tutorial
This design of hair barrette has came from my own idea. Been produced a lot of them. Quite a few had asked me to teach them how to make this personalized barrette (call it ‘personalized’ as it has name on it). So, here’s the simple and easy ‘secret recipe’ of how to do it yourself.
Needed items;
- Felt, french clip, mounting board, hot glue gun (UHU glue also can), needle & thread, scissor, chord, embellishments and sharp-pointed screw driver-smallest size (scissor or nail also will do).
Step by step:
- Cut the cardboard into shape ( within the french clip length, mark its edge on the card board). Using the sharp-pointed screw driver, drill 4 holes (2 side by side holes for each mark).
- Cut 2 squares of felt (must bigger than the cardboard).
- Heat up the glue gun and put the felt and the cardboard together. Attach the french clip and bind them tightly.
- Put another felt square on top. Take the cardboard edge as the guideline, stitch around.
- Cut out the felt around the line and trim the edge.
- Put some embellishments for decoration.
- Finished! Now you can make your own personalized barrette.
