Baby’s comfort

21
Jan

Special request by Normi for her new born baby, I finally finished them after 2 years waiting (since last year, lol). Thank you and sorry for the patient and understanding. I hope it will satisfies you.

A bed, pillow and 2 bolster cases. This soft pink with embroidered flower and edge fabric was prepared by her. She asked for these words, so I used cotton fabrics to form the letters and machine-sewn them. A few heart shape appliques and buttons applied.

Not least, a simple headband for the baby, as a gift from me. I should’ve put name on it but since I didn’t know the baby’s name and as I want it to be a surprise, so I just let it be it.

Cupcakes

Thank you very much to all the comments on the product photography tutorial’s entry. You guys had really made my day with all the supports that brought together in every single comment. I hope, at least I can share one knowledge with others, even if I’m far from expert but hopefully my simple instructions can be well understood and you guys will try it yourselves.

As promised, here I announce the best 2 slogans. Honestly, it was hard for me to decide as all sayings had impressed me, touched me.. Ok, here are the winners;

“Hi…that’s a nice tutorial. I want this cupcakes for free because cupcakes make my day =D or should I say Cupcakes make every girl’s day. =D” – Jenny

Congratulation Jenny and thank you for coming in. I like it when she said “…cupcakes make every girl’s day” Who wouldn’t? She’s one of the grosgrain ribbon pack buyer, thanks a lot Jenny.

“Salam Ja, terima kasih tutorial tu. Boleh ayu try buat nanti. Memang nampak professional. Kamera pun..wahhh. Saya nak sangat dengan kapkek ni sebab saya mahukan sentuhan peribadi dari Jaja, salah seorang yang banyak bagi saya inspirasi dan ilham untuk saya memulakan bisnes kraf saya. Kombinasi warna dan hiasannya cantik dan kemas. Moga kapkek ni boleh jadi sumber inspirasi saya dikala ketandusan idea. Terima kasih sekali lagi.” - Ayu

“…sentuhan peribadi…” that’s the words I love the most. Congratulation Ayu, thank you so much. I have a lot of inspiring crafter friends, she’s one of it. Expertized in bag making, she really stands in her own track.

Some of the viewers had asked me about the tools I applied to the keychain’s hole. Here’s the thing…

Named eyelet puncher or eyelet plier, comes together with eyelet ring. Quite hard to find, I’ve finally found it on eBay after been looking for it for so long. Very practical for keychain, hp strap and bookmark-ing.

Product photography tutorial

18
Jan

2 – 3 persons had asked me personally, how I took and edited a picture for my blog. So here I want to share my way on how to make sure the picture looks professional without professional.

My tip: The right technique is matters while shooting the picture; No vibration (tripod will do, because our hands cannot hold the camera steadily) and lighting (light enough and no direct flash, it will caused harsh shadow or else the picture will over exposed).

  • Prepare a white clean interfacing. I used white fabric and white sheet, curve it on a chair for seamless background. Put the product into place and shoot some pictures.

  • Choose the best picture. This is the original picture I will be working with.

Editing the picture step by step:

Step 1: Open the picture with Macromedia Fireworks. Other software should be similar. Crop the picture with Cropping Tool on the left. Press Enter on the keyboard.

Step 2: Next, go to Filter –> Adjust color –> Curves.

You should have a window open that looks like this. Click select highlight color on the right pen.

Drop the pen on the white background of the picture. See what happen to your picture’s background. It’s turned white now.

Step 3: To make the color looks vibrant, adjust your curve by dragging down a bit. Then click Ok.

Step 4: Now got to Modify –> Canvas –> Canvas Color.

Choose White and then click Ok.

Move the picture around to make sure the background is totally white as white as the canvas.

Repeat the Step 2 once again. This time drop the pen on the ‘not white enough’ background. Then put the picture back into place.

Step 5: Go to Modify –> Canvas –> Canvas Size. Resize the picture to your desired size.

I used to resized my picture to 500 pixels. Click Ok.

Your picture will looks small now. Change the resolution view and click 100%.

Step 6: Click the picture, then go to Effects –>Sharpen –> Sharpen. To make the picture even more sharper.

Step 7: Then click Text Tool on the left and drop it on the picture and type your name or what so ever, for copyright.

Step 8: Go to File –> Save.

Click Save JPEG.

This is the stage where you sh0uld have your final image.

You’re done! You’re just produced a professional photo without professional. Hope this simple steps will help. Good luck!

Thank you for reading.

Wait, wait. Don’t go away yet. Keep reading this. Ok, I made these cup cake keychains and hp straps for the sake of this tutorial. And yes, they’re embellished on both sides. So, I’ll give it for free to 2 readers. 1 keychain and 1 hp strap to each of them. Just leave a comment on this entry by completing this slogan “I want these cup cakes for free because…” or “Saya nak sangat dengan kapkek ni sebab…”.

I’ll choose the best 2 slogans and announce the chosen ones on Tuesday. Make sure I can reach you through your email.

Ok, I’m finished now, thanks again for reading till the last full stop.
